Rene Velasquez serves as Chief Financial Officer and Controller for Guthrie Development, bringing more than three decades of experience in commercial real estate finance, asset management, and strategic operations. Throughout his career, he has provided financial leadership, valuation expertise, and portfolio oversight for institutional owners, developers, and investors across a wide range of asset classes.
Before joining Guthrie Development, Rene founded Proforma Plus in 1989, where he advised clients on asset management, financial reporting, underwriting, and property valuations. His work has supported billions of dollars in commercial real estate transactions spanning office, industrial, retail, hospitality, multifamily, self-storage, land development, and public facilities throughout the United States.
Rene also held senior leadership roles with BKM Capital Partners and BKM Development Company, where he oversaw investment strategy execution, asset performance, investor reporting, banking relationships, and portfolio analysis. Known for combining financial discipline with practical real estate insight, Rene has built a reputation as a trusted advisor and valued partner to ownership groups and development teams alike.
